Installing 64-bit ODAC 11.2 Release 3 (11.2.0.2.1) for Windows x64 Dear all; I just downloaded 64-bit ODAC 11.2 Release 3 (11.2.0.2.1) for Windows x64 on my local pc.I am trying to run the install.bat after unzipping the file however, the black pop-up window comes up and disappears almost immediately. I had oracle 11.2.0.3 x32 that have odac with universal installer. After installing odac I could see oracle provider in Visual Studio 2012 Connect to Database window. Now with oracle 11.2.0.4 x64 a.

I'm creating a SQL Server linked-server between SQL Server 2016 64BIT and ORACLE-11G Release 11.2.0.4.0 64BIT. After following the instructions that I have found, here's what I did:
01. downloaded & installed the Oracle Client: Version 11.2.0.4.0 from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/winx64soft-089540.html:
* it just extracted files onto the hard disk; there was no executable that I could find
* a and b below are what I ended up extracting to the hard-disk on the SQL Server / WIN 2012R2 Server
a. Instant Client Package - Basic: All files required to run OCI, OCCI, and JDBC-OCI applications
* http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/instantclient/11204/instantclient-basic-windows.x64-11.2.0.4.0.zip
b. Instant Client Package - ODBC: Additional libraries for enabling ODBC applications
* http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/instantclient/11204/instantclient-odbc-windows.x64-11.2.0.4.0.zip

02. added the following arg to the PATH ENV VAR on the WIN 2012R2 Server hosting SQL Server: 'C:Program Filesoracle-instantclient-basic-windows.x64-11.2.0.4.0instantclient_11_2'.
